IPL 2024: Such a beating was never seen before in cricket, Fifty in powerplay, 167 runs in 58 balls

New Delhi. What Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma did in the IPL on Wednesday has never happened before in history. These two batsmen of Sunrisers Hyderabad created such a ‘kill’ against Lucknow Supergiants that the bowlers started crying tears of blood. Cricket fans might also be thinking that does anyone kill like this?

But the result of this killing was that Sunrisers Hyderabad won the match by scoring 167 runs in just 9.4 overs. This is a world record for the highest target achieved within 10 overs in T20 cricket.Sunrisers Hyderabad faced Lucknow Supergiants on Wednesday in IPL 2024. Batting first, Lucknow Supergiants scored 165 runs for 4 wickets. To say the least, this score is said to be fine.

But Sunrisers openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma batted in such a way that the target which was to be achieved in 20 overs i.e. 120 balls, was achieved in just 9.4 overs. That means 62 balls remain. This is the first time in T20 history that a target greater than 150 has been achieved with more than 60 balls remaining.

Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 107 runs in the powerplay i.e. in the first 6 overs without losing any wicket. This is the second highest score in powerplay in IPL. The record of the highest score is also in the name of SRH. Then Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma had scored 125 runs without losing any wicket in the powerplay against Delhi Capitals.

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma made a partnership of 100 runs in just 34 runs against Lucknow. This is the record of the second fastest partnership of 100 runs in IPL. The record of the fastest partnership is also in the name of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. Both of them had scored 100 runs in just 30 balls against Delhi Capitals.
