New Delhi: Israel’s action against Palestine-based terrorist group Hamas has come under doubt after a rocket attack took place on a hospital in Gaza on the twelfth day of the war, killing 500 people.
Hamas immediately said the hospital was hit by Israeli airstrikes, while the Israeli military said militants from another Palestinian armed group, Islamic Jihad, had fired a rocket against Israel, which misfired and hit the hospital in Gaza. It fell, resulting in hundreds of deaths.
At least 3,478 people have been killed in Tuesday’s hospital attack in the Gaza Strip and Israel’s retaliation for the October 7 attack, according to the Hamas-controlled health ministry.
Whereas Israel has said that in the October 7 attack, Hamas terrorists killed around 1400 of its citizens. Leaders around the world have expressed grief over this tragedy.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote in a post on Twitter, ‘Deeply saddened by the tragic death of people in Gaza’s Al Ahli Hospital. My heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured. Civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict are a matter of serious and continuing concern.
Whoever is involved in this act should be held accountable.’ Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden reached Israel on Wednesday to support Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
