Srinagar. Two terrorists have been killed in an encounter with the army in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to sources, two terrorists trying to infiltrate have been killed by the Army in Machil sector of Kupwara district near the Line of Control.
Police said that on specific information, army and police conducted a joint operation in Kumkadi area of Machil sector. During this, two infiltrators coming from across the border were killed.
So far, two AK rifles, four AK magazines, 90 rounds of bullets, one Pakistani pistol, one pouch and Pakistani currency worth Rs 2100 have been recovered from the terrorists. A search operation is being conducted at the incident site.
Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh had said on Thursday that the security grid is alert and active to foil the nefarious designs of Pakistan-backed anti-national elements on the border and in the interior areas.
Singh said the people of Jammu and Kashmir want peace and have recognized the criminal folly of Pakistan, which is trying to instigate the youth against its own people.
