Operation continues for 7th day in Anantnag, body of missing soldier found

Anantnag: The Anantnag encounter, which is considered to be one of the longest encounters, has entered its seventh day on Tuesday. Security forces believe that one or two terrorists are still hiding. Whereas yesterday the burnt body of a terrorist was recovered in the morning.

Sample has been taken for DNA test, as another body was also recovered from the spot. It is believed that this body could be that of an army soldier, who has been identified as Pradeep.

The number of casualties has now reached four, including three Indian Army soldiers and one Jammu and Kashmir Police officer. On the 7th day, the Army is likely to make a final effort with the aim of completing the operation as the body of the soldier was recovered on Monday evening.

Search operations are underway after a fierce encounter that lasted for more than 100 hours between Pakistan-backed terrorists and security forces in Kokernag in Anantnag district of South Kashmir.
