Srinagar. Earthquake tremors have been felt in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir. The tremor of this earthquake was felt this morning on Friday. This information was given by the National Center for Seismology.

An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale was recorded at 5.01 am today. The epicenter of the earthquake’s depth has been recorded 10 km inside the ground.

The National Center for Seismology said in a tweet, ‘Earthquake magnitude: 3.6 on the Richter scale, Earthquake occurred on 17-02-2023, at 05:01:49 IST, Latitude: 33.10 Longitude: 75.97, Earthquake depth: 10 km , Location: 97 km east of Jammu and Kashmir in Katra.’

Significantly, there is a holy temple of Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra of Jammu and Kashmir itself, where lakhs of people go every year to visit the mother. The building of Mata Vaishno Devi is situated on the top of Trikuta mountain in Katra of Reasi district.
