Jammu and Kashmir: Infiltration bid foiled on LoC in Poonch, 1 jawan injured in firing, army on alert

Jammu: An Indian Army soldier was injured in an encounter with terrorists trying to cross the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter took place late Friday night in Chakka Da Bagh area of Poonch district.

According to the information received, Indian Army soldiers saw some suspects infiltrating Indian territory late on Friday night. After this he was challenged by the army.

Then firing was started on the army towards the terrorists. After this, retaliatory firing was also started from the side of the Indian Army. A jawan was injured in this firing.

The injured jawan was immediately sent to the military hospital. Where the condition of the jawan is being told out of danger. The infiltration attempt from the Line of Control is being made when Home Minister Amit Shah is on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir.

Police and Army are on alert mode on the Poonch National Highway after the infiltration attempt. Every incoming and outgoing vehicle is being checked and they are being allowed to move ahead only after enquiry.
