Jammu Terrorist Attack: terrorists attacked Army vehicles in Poonch,5 Army jawans killed and 2 injured

Poonch/Jammu.In a distressing incident, a group of terrorists launched a brazen attack on Army vehicles in Poonch, resulting in the tragic loss of five Army jawans’ lives. Two additional soldiers sustained injuries during the ambush.

The assailants targeted the convoy with precision, leading to a fierce firefight between the terrorists and the courageous soldiers. Despite the valiant efforts of the Army personnel to repel the attack, the unfortunate loss of lives occurred.

Security forces swiftly responded to the situation, securing the area and initiating investigations to identify and apprehend the perpetrators behind this heinous act. The injured soldiers are currently receiving medical care, and the authorities are ensuring that all necessary measures are taken to bring the situation under control.

This reprehensible act of terrorism has prompted a renewed call for heightened vigilance and security measures in the region. The nation stands united in grief, mourning the sacrifice of these brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the fallen soldiers, and we express solidarity with the armed forces in their ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in the face of such challenges.

Two former Chief Ministers of Jammu and Kashmir – Ghulam Nabi Azad and Mehbooba Mufti have strongly condemned the attack. The People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF), the Pakistan-based branch of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has claimed responsibility for the ambush.

Defense Department Public Relations Officer in Jammu, Lieutenant Colonel Sunil Bartwal said that based on ‘strong intelligence’ about the presence of terrorists, a joint search operation was launched on Wednesday night in Dhera Ki Gali area of Poonch district.
