Janata Dal (S) joins NDA, Kumaraswamy said – target to win all Lok Sabha seats of Karnataka

New Delhi. Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Friday. Janata Dal (Secular) has now joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

BJP President JP Nadda and Goa CM Pramod Sawant were also present on this occasion. After joining the ruling alliance, Kumaraswamy said he spoke to Shah and Nadda about the Cauvery water sharing dispute and discussed seat sharing in the general elections.

This was a formal meeting. Seat sharing will be formally discussed in the coming days without any confusion. At present the important issue is to win all the 28 seats in Karnataka and JD(S) will support NDA in every way.

After this meeting, BJP President JP Nadda posted on X (Twitter) that ‘Met former Karnataka Chief Minister and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy in the presence of our senior leader and Home Minister Amit Shah.

I am happy that JD(S) has decided to be a part of the National Democratic Alliance. We wholeheartedly welcome him to the NDA…’ It is said that Goa CM Pramod Sawant played an important role in Janata Dal (S) joining the NDA before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

He said that ‘…JD(S) has formally joined the NDA alliance to strengthen the NDA and I congratulate them for this…The Parliamentary Board and JD(S) will decide on seat sharing.’

Sawant said, ‘The way Prime Minister Narendra Modi is doing development work, no party will refuse to join NDA… I also welcome JDS.’ NDA is going to come to power once again in the upcoming elections. . We are going to win all the Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka…’
