Kedarnath yatra stopped due to rain, one killed due to lightning in Uttarkashi

New Delhi: Monsoon has reached Uttarakhand. Due to which intermittent rains are continuing in the hills and plains of Uttarakhand since early Sunday. Kedarnath Yatra interrupted due to rain. In Sonprayag, pilgrims have been stopped from going to Kedarnath.

Four scorched due to lightning, one died

Four persons were seriously burnt by lightning in Kandyal village of Purola, Uttarkashi. In which a young man has died while being brought to the hospital. This incident happened while transplanting paddy in the fields. On the other hand, four animals died due to lightning in Sindara named Tok of Gram Panchayat Jarda of Naogaon block. A girl who had gone to feed the animals was also burnt.

Landslide threatens residential house

On the other hand, in Uttarkashi, a residential house has been threatened due to landslides due to Saturday morning rains in Gyansu Paduli, a Scheduled Caste dominated area. In this regard, the affected has sent a memorandum to the Chief Minister. The affected family said that the road connecting their house has also been broken.

Orange alert for heavy rain in next 24 hours

Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Centre, Dehradun, said that the monsoon is progressing rapidly. In view of this, an orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours in seven districts including Dehradun from Sunday. During this, very heavy rainfall may occur at some places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Nainital and Bageshwar districts.
