New Delhi. Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has told investigators that politicians and businessmen pay him in lieu of threatening calls to seek police protection.
Bishnoi was in the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in April, which questioned the gangster in a case related to funding for Khalistani outfits. Bishnoi, the main accused in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, is currently in Bathinda jail.
The agency is understood to have informed the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) about the information revealed in the interrogation of Lawrence. A source said, “The gangster told investigators that he was extorting Rs 2.5 crore every month from liquor dealers, call center owners, drug suppliers and real estate businessmen.
He claimed that these days, many politicians and businessmen are paying him to make threatening extortion calls to get security cover from the respective state police.
Bishnoi also reveals that he has a ‘business model’ in which he has tied up with jailed gangsters from Uttar Pradesh (Dhanjay Singh), Haryana (Kala Jatheri), Rajasthan (Rohit Godara) and Delhi (Rohit Moi and Hashim Baba). is included.
The official said, ‘In this alliance business model, they have taken the contract of toll security and shared percentage. Apart from this, if they want to eliminate their enemies, they provide each other with weapons as well as shooters.
The Bishnois claimed that Bollywood actor Salman Khan was their target in the 1998 black buck poaching case as the black buck is considered sacred in the Bishnoi community.
He reportedly said that he would forgive Khan only if he “apologises”. The source said, “The gangster claimed during interrogation that he was against the pro-Khalistan concept and only wanted to run his crime syndicate by tying up with other criminals.”
