An announcement regarding alliance between both the parties may be made soon. Sources said that a policy is being worked out that BJP will contest more seats in the Lok Sabha elections in the state, while BJD will contest more seats in the Assembly. This is to be discussed in the core group meeting to be held on Wednesday.

On the other hand, while ruling out any pre-poll alliance for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir unit chief Ravindra Raina said on March 4 that the party will not need any post-poll alliance as the Center It will win all the seats in the union territory.

Raina told reporters in Srinagar, “BJP is ready to contest elections on all five seats in Jammu and Kashmir. We will contest the Lok Sabha elections on our own. When the Election Commission announces the assembly elections (for Jammu and Kashmir), we will contest the elections on our own.”

He said, “We are confident that we will win both the elections because BJP is getting the love of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.” Raina said, “It is a matter of happiness for the people of Kashmir that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to the (Kashmir) valley on March 7. More than two lakh people will participate in the Prime Minister’s rally to be held at Bakshi Stadium.
