Mahadev App Case: ED filed charge sheet, names of 14 people including promoters included

New Delhi. The Enforcement Directorate has filed its first chargesheet in the Mahadev App online betting scam against 14 people under sections 44 and 45 of the Money Laundering Act. Investigating agency ED’s lawyer Saurabh Pandey has confirmed this.

The ED’s 197-page chargesheet names Saurabh Chandrakar, Ravi Uppal, Vikas Chappariya, Chandrabhushan Verma, Satish Chandrakar, Anil Dammani, Sunil Dammani, Vishal Ahuja, Dheeraj Ahuja, Punaram Verma through Srijan Associates, Shiv Kumar Verma, Punaram Verma, Shiv The names of Kumar Verma, Yashoda Verma and Pawan Naithani are included in the list of accused.

More than 8,800 pages of documents have been cited as evidence. ED officials said initial investigations suggest the scam could be worth Rs 6,000 crore. ED has already provisionally seized a total of Rs 41 crore as proceeds of crime.

Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, the alleged kingpins of the scam and promoters of Mahadev App, have been named as key conspirators by the ED. The agency has accused both of them of gambling and money laundering through the app. Accused Satish Chandrakar has been named for helping in the operation of Mahadev App after Ravi Uppal and Saurabh Chandrakar fled to Dubai.

Pandey told that ‘Satish gave money and bought ID for Mahadev app. This ID was used to allow others to place bets using the app. The income was divided 70-30 percent between Satish Chandrakar and Dubai-based promoters.
