New Delhi. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has emphasized that it was he who had sent the request to ban Mahadev App and issue LOC against its promoters.However, on Sunday, one of the accused individuals made a video statement alleging that the Chief Minister had personally instructed him to escape to the UAE.
Shubham Soni, sought by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case associated with the Mahadev app, revealed in a video statement from Dubai that he is the genuine proprietor of the app, having established the company in 2021, and engaged in the gambling business. Initially, everything was running smoothly, with support coming from various quarters.
However, as some individuals were getting arrested, he required protection. Soni went on to explain that he subsequently encountered an individual named Verma, who demanded a monthly security fee of Rs 10 lakh.Soni said, ‘After this the payment of Rs 10 lakh per month started, once again our people were arrested and I called Verma and asked him.
Then he said let me arrange your meeting with some high profile person. Verma took him to the Chief Minister and another person who were in the meeting.’ He can be heard saying in the video, ‘I told the ED Have given my statement in writing.
Soni further said that after meeting the Chief Minister, on his advice he went to Dubai to expand his business. He said that in Dubai he met two persons from Bhilai – Saurabh and Ravi (named accused in both the cases) and they thought of investing in the real construction business.
