Maharashtra: 5 killed in Pune’s Pimpri Chinchwad as iron hoarding collapses

Pune. The news of a painful accident has come to the fore from Maharashtra. In Pimpri Chinchwad area of Pune district, five people were killed and two others were injured when an iron hoarding fell due to strong wind on Monday evening.

Police sources gave this information. The incident took place on the service road on the Mumbai-Pune highway in the Rawat Kiwale area. A police officer said, “Some people took shelter under iron hoardings due to the strong wind. Suddenly the structure collapsed on them, killing five people and injuring two others.

He said that five bodies have been recovered and a search operation is on to find out if anyone else is trapped under the hoarding. The official said that the injured persons have been taken to the hospital.
