New Delhi.The predicaments for former Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra continue unabated, as the Estate Directorate served her an eviction notice on Tuesday, compelling her to vacate the government bungalow. This information was disclosed by sources within the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry.
Mahua Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha last month. Sources said that the Trinamool Congress leader has been asked to vacate the government bungalow immediately. This bungalow was allotted to him as an MP.
Sources said, ‘She (Moitra) was issued a notice to vacate the bungalow on Tuesday. Now a team of officers from the Estate Directorate will be sent to ensure that the government bungalow is vacated as soon as possible.
The Trinamool Congress leader was expelled from the Lok Sabha on December 8 last year. Earlier, Moitra’s allotment was canceled and she was asked to vacate the bungalow by January 7.The Estate Directorate then issued a notice on January 8 seeking his reply within three days as to why he had not vacated his government residence.
After this, another notice was issued to him on January 12.On January 4, the Delhi High Court had asked the Trinamool leader to approach the Estate Directorate with a request to allow him to continue occupying the allotted government house.
