Mamta has bluntly said that the Congress will have to choose between the Trinamool Congress and the Left, only then the matter can move forward. Nitish Kumar is engaged in the exercise of forming an effective alliance at the national level against Prime Minister Narendra Modi before 2024. .

In this connection, Nitish recently met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Delhi and then Mamta in Kolkata and Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow. The purpose of this race is to trap PM Modi in his Chakravyuh in the next Lok Sabha elections. However, Nitish’s efforts do not seem to be paying off.

During the meeting with Mamta, Nitish suggested that during the Lok Sabha elections in Bengal, TMC and Congress should fight on the basis of an agreement on seats, in which the Congress would give seats to the Left from its quota.

With this formula, Nitish’s aim was to bring all the three big parties of Bengal together. However, Mamta refused saying that she does not want to be seen in alliance with the Left even indirectly.
