Mandi:The Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, which promised to bring about systemic change, has declared a substantial economic relief package for those affected by disasters. However, despite the passage of three months, the relief funds from the Congress government have not reached the affected individuals in Khonalal.
Jairam Thakur, the Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister, voiced this accusation following a meeting with the disaster-affected residents in Kholnal Panchayat, which falls within his home assembly constituency. Thakur highlighted the extensive destruction caused by heavy rains in Kholnal Panchayat, stressing that the government has yet to provide any relief to those affected.
He pointed out that Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu had announced the most substantial relief package in the state’s history. However, despite this announcement, the Congress government has, in Thakur’s view, failed to deliver financial relief to the affected population even after three months.
The Leader of Opposition urged Congress leaders to be transparent about the distribution of relief funds, emphasizing the need for clarity on the recipients of this financial assistance.
