Manipur: Violence again after 48 hours of peace, militants killed 3

New Delhi. Militants disguised as security personnel called three people out of their houses on the pretext of a search operation and opened fire on them, killing them in a village in Manipur’s Imphal West district on Friday.

After 48 hours of peace, a violent incident has again come to the fore in Manipur. On the other hand, in the case of violence in Manipur, on Friday, the CBI has constituted a Special Investigative Team under the leadership of a DIG rank officer.

The CBI is probing six cases related to communal violence in Manipur. According to the information received regarding the latest attack, the incident took place in the village of Kuki community located on the border of Kangpoki and Imphal West districts of Manipur.

The officer said that the militants are believed to be from the Meitei community. The security forces, who were on regular patrolling of the village, reached there after hearing the sound of firing, but by then the militants fled from the area. Before fleeing, he shot and killed three people.
