Delhi: While reserving the verdict, Delhi Court asked Sisodia why it is being said in the application that Sisodia is the only male member of the family, whether there are no other men present to perform the rituals.

The court also asked Manish Sisodia whether he was ready to attend the wedding in the presence of 5-6 police officers wearing civil dress. Sisodia’s lawyer said that he should not insult my family by sending police along with him.

The court remarked that even when he was a minister, security would have been provided as a protocol. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) strongly opposed Manish Sisodia’s interim bail application.

ED said that Sisodia is extremely influential, if such freedom is provided to people accused of economic crimes, it will set a wrong precedent. ED said that Sisodia may be allowed to go without security for a day.

The CBI had arrested the former Deputy Chief Minister on February 26, 2023, over alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now defunct Delhi Liquor Scam Policy 2021-22. After his arrest by CBI, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested him from Tihar Jail on March 9 in a related money laundering case.
