Mumbai:Amid growing unrest surrounding the Maratha reservation demand, reports of arson and vandalism have emerged from various parts of Maharashtra. In response to the intensifying protests, curfews have been enforced in certain areas, and internet services have been temporarily halted. The movement for Maratha reservation is gaining momentum.
In an effort to address the situation, an all-party meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde began on Wednesday morning. Notably, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray has not been included in this meeting.
On Wednesday morning, during the Maratha reservation movement protests, demonstrators targeted the SUV of Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Hasan Mushrif in South Mumbai. According to a police officer, three individuals have been apprehended by the Marine Drive police station in connection with the incident.
Hasan Mushrif is a member of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The incident occurred around 7.30 am when two activists from the Maratha Reservation Movement used sticks to vandalize the minister’s SUV, which was parked near the Akashvani MLA Hostel in South Mumbai.
