Baghdad: There is an uproar in Kirkuk city of Iraq. Violence has erupted here between Kurdish and Arab residents. One civilian died and eight others were injured in this violence.
Curfew has been imposed in the city after the violence. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani ordered a curfew in Kirkuk. Along with this, directed to increase the security in a big way in the areas affected by the riots.
Prime Minister al-Sudani called on all parties to “stop the conflict in Kirkuk and play their role in maintaining security, stability and order,” Al Jazeera reported.
A local official said one civilian was killed and eight wounded following days of tensions in Kirkuk, which has historically been disputed between the federal government in Baghdad and authorities in the autonomous Kurdish region in the north.
