Tel Aviv: Israel’s Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet, the Israeli intelligence agency, have announced the successful elimination of Muhammad Atzar, the leader of Hamas’s anti-tank missile unit in Gaza. Atzar was targeted and killed in an airstrike. He held responsibility for overseeing anti-tank systems across multiple Hamas brigades operating within the Gaza Strip.
The statement issued by the IDF also said that he was managing the unit on a regular basis and helped activate emergency systems. It said that during his command of the anti-tank system, several attacks were carried out against Israeli civilians and IDF forces.
On the other hand, the Israeli army said on Wednesday that it has increased air security in the Red Sea region after several missile and drone attacks by Iran-backed Houthi in Yemen.
The ships were deployed after assessing the situation on Tuesday, after a missile and two drones were launched from Yemen at Israel. A Houthi missile was intercepted on Wednesday morning near Eilat, Israel’s southernmost city near the Red Sea.
