Hyderabad: An assistant superintendent of police (ASP) in Telangana’s Bhadradri Kothagudem district received minor injuries when a vehicle in a minister’s convoy hit him while he was on settlement duty. Police said on Tuesday that the incident occurred when IPS Paritosh Pankaj, who is the ASP of Bhadrachalam, was on settlement duty during Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s visit to the city on Monday.
A car from the State Minister’s convoy hit him from behind, after which he fell down. A video of the incident has gone viral. Pankaj was immediately taken to a local hospital and later taken to Hyderabad for treatment, a senior police officer said, adding that he suffered minor injuries in the incident.
The officer said, ‘He is fine.’ There was a small fracture near his left eye and he underwent surgery. He is fine now. He is in a hospital in Hyderabad.’ The video of this incident is viral. It can be seen in the video that after the entry of the ministers’ vehicle, Pankaj was directing his subordinates to close the barricade, but failed to notice that Sridhar Another car of Babu, the pilot vehicle, was coming from behind.
In the video, Pankaj can be seen running, after which he stood in the middle of the road. A fast approaching car hit them from behind. Fortunately, he fell aside and did not come under the wheels of the car. The policemen present on the spot ran to save him, after which he was admitted to the local hospital.
