New Delhi: The Meteorological Department has forecast moderate to heavy rains in 24 states of the country in the next 24 hours. Monsoon has advanced in states like Gujarat and Punjab.
IMD says that there will be monsoon rains in the East, Central, North West and West of India for the next 5 days. During this, heavy rains will be seen in UP, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh.
The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert for heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa. The effect of monsoon is also being seen in the capital Delhi.
Even today, IMD has predicted cloudy weather and rain here. Apart from this, there will be monsoon rains in the states of South India and the Northeast.
The rainy season continues in Assam, due to which the Brahmaputra river has taken a fierce form. There is a flood-like situation in the low-lying areas of the state. Lakhs of people have been affected. At the same time, the rivers in Himachal Pradesh are also in spate.
Tourists have been advised not to visit Himachal for the next few days. Roads are getting jammed due to landslides at various places, erosion is taking place due to the fast flow of water.
