Jabalpur. Voting will be held on November 17 to elect the new government in Madhya Pradesh. Union Minister Prahlad Singh Patel is getting ready at his residence in Jabalpur to leave for the day’s four rallies.
Prahlad Singh Patel’s towering presence – who stands over six feet tall – is a reminder of his tall stature in this part of Madhya Pradesh.
While boarding the helicopter from Jabalpur airport for his rallies, Prahlad Patel says, “BJP will not have any dilemma regarding the CM face in Madhya Pradesh.
There will never be any fight over the post of Chief Minister in BJP. All this will happen easily. I would urge you not to speculate and wait for December 3.”
Prahlad Patel is an OBC leader and the last three BJP chief ministers in Madhya Pradesh have all been OBCs – Uma Bharti, Babu Lal Gaur and Shivraj Singh Chouhan. If his party wins again in Madhya Pradesh this year, it will strengthen Prahlad Patel’s claim for the post of Chief Minister.
However, Prahlad Patel refused to bat for himself. Instead he praised Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He said, “It is a proud moment for us that we have given so many OBC CMs in Madhya Pradesh. In our entire team, Shivraj Singh Chauhan is the most popular leader among the people of Madhya Pradesh. There is no dispute in his becoming CM.”
