Mumbai: Anil Deshmukh has created a sensation with a statement given against Devendra Fadnavis. Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Wednesday alleged that Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had pressured him to topple the coalition government three years ago.
Fadnavis has categorically denied these allegations and said that there is a lot of evidence against him himself. Anil Deshmukh said that he was pressured to file false affidavits against many prominent officials of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
Deshmukh, a veteran NCP (Sharad Pawar) leader, said, I was promised freedom from ED and CBI investigations in return. Anil Deshmukh says that this offer was made by a mediator on behalf of Fadnavis. He said, after this I personally spoke to him on the phone.
Deshmukh says that I will reveal everything when the right time comes. He said, Fadnavis’s aide met me several times and arranged phone conversations between us. Once, Fadnavis told me that he was sending some documents for review. I was told that if it is not possible to accuse Ajit Pawar, then I should speak against Thackeray and Anil Parab (Shiv Sena).
