Istanbul: Russia’s top diplomat Nikolay Kobrinets died mysteriously in Istanbul, Turkey. His body was found in a hotel room. Turkish police is examining the CCTV footage of the hotel to investigate the matter.
Experts are examining the fingerprints. According to media reports, he had come to Turkey to attend the summit with ambassadors of many countries.
Nikolay died after checking into a hotel in Istanbul’s Taksim district. This case is the latest addition to a series of suspicious deaths of Russian officials and businessmen.
When Nikolay did not arrive for the meeting in the morning, his colleagues expressed concern. During this time his hotel room was checked, where he was found dead on the bed. The preliminary investigation report revealed that he died due to a heart attack, but the police is also investigating the case from the angle of murder.
The body of Nikolay Kobrinets has been sent for postmortem. His body was taken to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institute in Bahçelievler Yenibosna. Many top Russian diplomats and officials have died mysteriously amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war since last year.
