Naidu has done a great job by taking oath. He has included his son Lokesh in his cabinet. As a regional party, this step of Naidu can have far-reaching effects. Under his leadership, Lokesh will understand the nuances of running the party as well as the government. However, many regional parties have done this before.

This includes the name of Uddhav Thackeray, who was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra recently. When Uddhav was the Chief Minister, he also made his son Aditya Thackeray a minister. If we look at the history of recent politics, when the Akali Dal government was in power in Punjab, its leader and Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal made his son Sukhbir Singh Badal the Deputy Chief Minister.

Similarly, when the DMK government was in power in Tamil Nadu from 2006 to 2011, M Karunanidhi was the Chief Minister. During that period, his son Stalin was his colleague in his cabinet. However, the leaders of both the big regional parties of Bihar and UP, RJD and Samajwadi Party, have not been able to do such a thing.

In Bihar, Lalu Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi were both Chief Ministers for a long time, but during the tenure of both, no other member of their family was in the cabinet. Similarly, Mulayam Singh was also the Chief Minister of UP thrice, but he could never include his son Akhilesh Yadav in the cabinet during his tenure.

By the time their next generation became active in both these parties, they had become weak in politics. However, it was in the presence of Mulayam Singh that Akhilesh Yadav was made the CM of UP in 2012. In Bihar, Lalu Yadav almost went away from politics, but the activity of his son Tejaswi Yadav increased.
