Important meeting of Shinde cabinet today, will the names of British era railway stations be changed?

Mumbai: Maharashtra government’s cabinet meeting is going to be held today. Many important decisions can be taken in this meeting. Let us tell you that a meeting was held with the Chief Minister yesterday i.e. on March 12 regarding changing the names of railway stations in Mumbai.

According to sources, in this meeting there was discussion on changing the names of railway stations of the British era. The state has the right to change the names of British era railway stations.According to sources, the names of 6 to 8 local railway stations in and around Mumbai can be changed. Shinde faction MP Rahul Shewale has said that the names will be changed as per the demand received.

All these names were given by the British. Maharashtra government can change their names.A proposal has been made to the Central Government that Mumbai Central should be named after Nana Jagannath Shankar Sheth. There is a proposal to make King’s Circle Tirthankar Parshvanath.

A proposal has been sent to change the names of Mumbai Central, Marinelines, Dockyard stations. Apart from this, there is news that in the cabinet meeting today there is a discussion on changing the names of British era railway stations like Curry Road, Sandhurst Road, Dockyard, Charni Road and Cottongreen.

The name of Curry Road station can be changed to Lalbagh. Sandhurst Road station may be named Dongri, Marine Lines station may be named Mumbadevi, Charni Road station may be named Girgaon, Cottongreen station may be named Kalachowki Dockyard Road station as Mazgaon and Kings Circle station may be named Tirthankar Parshvanath.
