West Bengal: NIA team attacked again, villagers pelted stones, one officer injured

Kolkata. The team of National Investigation Agency NIA was once again attacked in East Medinipur district of West Bengal. NIA said that an officer of the agency was injured in this attack. According to the information received, the NIA team had reached here on Saturday morning to investigate the bomb blasts that took place in the year 2022 at the house of the new leader of Trinamool Congress.

When the NIA officers caught the two accused here and started taking them along, a crowd of about 150 villagers gathered at the spot and tried to stop the NIA officers and pelted stones at the vehicles. This incident happened around 5.30 am on Saturday. .

The NIA team had also taken the Central Security Force along with it. With their help, the NIA team left for Kolkata with the arrested accused. Let us tell you that a thatched house was demolished in the explosion that took place on December 3, 2022 in Bhupatinagar, East Medinipur, in which three people died. .

The NIA had last month summoned eight Trinamool Congress leaders for questioning in connection with the blast. The central probe agency had asked the eight to appear before its officers as they had not attended the earlier summons. In which he was directed to visit the NIA office in New Town near here on March 28.
