NDA government strengthened further in Lok Sabha before discussion on no-confidence motion

New Delhi: The date has been fixed for the discussion on the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha, on which the debate will begin on August 8 and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reply is expected on August 10.

With the opposition pressing ahead on the Manipur issue and the Prime Minister refusing to accede to its demand to speak on it in Parliament, the focus has now shifted to the crux of the argument both sides are making to make their case, reports The Indian Express. Will present.

The report quoted BJP sources as saying that the party is preparing data that would reveal the long history of violence and arson in the Northeast, most of which was controlled by the Congress.

The opposition, on the other hand, sees this as perhaps the last chance to attack the Modi government’s claim of a double-engine government before the upcoming assembly elections in several key states and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The BJP, which already had an overwhelming majority, got a boost on Tuesday when the BJD announced that it would support the government on a no-confidence motion.
