Operation Bharat Shakti: Modi government’s campaign to make India strategically self-reliant is progressing rapidly. All three armies are going to start exercise ‘Bharat Shakti’ in Pokhran. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself is reaching the Pokhran firing range on Tuesday, March 12, to see the weapons being inducted into the army and the firepower and strength of the indigenous weapons.
On the arrival of the PM, there will be rapid firing for 50 minutes with indigenous weapons of all three parts of the army.This includes Light Combat Aircraft Tejas, Light Combat Helicopter Prachanda, Light Utility Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv, Navy’s Light Weight Torpedo, Pinaka Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher, Battle Tank T (T 90), Arjun Tank, Self-Propelled Howitzer K- 9 (K-9) Vajra, Dhanush, Sarang cannons, loitering munitions and robotic dog ‘Mule’ along with state-of-the-art drones and UAVs will also show their strength in the battlefield.
Through this exercise, it will be shown how in the event of war, the three wings of the Indian Army, the Army, Air Force and Navy, work together and how fast coordination takes place between the forces. The Domo will begin with special forces of the three Army wings, Garud commandos and Marcos helicopters, Slither and all-terrain vehicles reaching the battlefield to sharpen their preparations and then destroy enemy positions by firing with long range artillery guns. Will show the power to demolish.
Preparations are also underway to create an Integrated Theater Command by merging the three parts of the Army, although its final form is yet to be decided. In such a situation, how the three armies are integrated and how fast communication takes place despite being at different locations, all this will be seen in the ‘Bharat Shakti’ exercise.
