Islamabad. Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are in big trouble. In the Toshakhana case, both of them have been sentenced to 14 years in jail. The couple has been sentenced to rigorous imprisonment.
Accountability Court Judge Mohammad Bashir heard the Toshakhana corruption case in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail. The former Prime Minister is serving sentence in another case in the same jail. In its decision, the court has banned both of them from holding any government post for 10 years and imposed a fine of Rs 78.70-78.70 crore on each.
This is the second setback for Imran Khan in two consecutive days. A day earlier on Tuesday, a special court of Pakistan had sentenced Imran Khan and former Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood to 10 years of imprisonment in the cipher case.
Imran Khan married Bushra Bibi in 2018, just a few months before being elected Prime Minister of Pakistan. Bushra Bibi did not appear in the court today in this case.
