2 groups clashed in Pakistan, 16 people died

Kohat: On Monday, news of bloody conflict between two tribal groups also came to the fore from Kohat district of Peshawar, Pakistan. At least 16 people were killed in bloody clashes over the demarcation of a coal mine in Pakistan’s restive northwestern region on Monday.

Police officials said that the incident took place in Darra Adam Khek area of Kohat district, about 35 km from Peshawar. Here there was a bloody conflict between two tribal groups Sanikhel and Zarghun Khel tribes regarding the delimitation of the mine.

According to the Kohat police spokesperson, the dead bodies and the injured have been sent to the hospital in Peshawar. The police said that the exact number of injured could not be immediately ascertained, but many people were killed in the firing from both the sides.

On information about the clash, joint teams of police and other security forces rushed to the spot and stopped the exchange of fire between the rival tribes, the official said
