BJP welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision, JP Nadda tweeted

Jammu and Kashmir: The Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court on Monday upheld the decision on the petition filed against the decision to remove Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. The Constitution Bench led by CJI said that the decision taken by the Central Government on August 5, 2019 to remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir will remain intact.

During this, he said that the President has the right to remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and this right will remain intact after the dissolution of the Assembly. Apart from this, the CJI said that the decision to remove Article 370 in the circumstances of war was an interim decision and Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India.

The CJI also said that elections should be held in the Supreme Court by September 2024. Let us tell you that a total of 22 petitions were filed in the Supreme Court, on which a marathon hearing was held for 16 consecutive days.

Today, security was increased in Jammu and Kashmir regarding the decision. Strict instructions have been given to the security forces. The Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court had reserved its decision long ago after hearing the matter. The cause list of December 11 uploaded on the Supreme Court website states that a five-judge Constitution bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud will deliver the verdict.

SC had reserved its decision in this case on September 5 after 16 days of hearing. Today in the Rajya Sabha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will present the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization (Amendment) Bill 2023 and the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act (Amendment) Bill 2023, both these bills have already been passed in the Lok Sabha.
