Hathras. 116 people lost their lives in a stampede during Bhole Baba’s discourse in Sikandrarao in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. Most of the people who died during the stampede in this satsang are women. Out of 116, 109 bodies have been identified so far. According to the information, 7 children have also died in the accident.
After the stampede, the SDRF team reached the spot and the rescue operation was started. The injured were taken to the hospital. At present, the condition of many injured is reported to be critical.After this stampede, the question that is arising in everyone’s mind is how such a big accident happened and how so many people lost their lives. Eyewitnesses of this incident have told the whole situation there.
A woman who came from Jaipur with her family to attend this satsang told outside the post-mortem house in Etah that after the satsang ended, people started coming out suddenly, which caused a stampede. Another eyewitness said, ‘We left the place before the Sadbhavna program was over. The program started at around 11.30 in the day. The arrangements there were not good. This incident happened due to jostling.’
One of these eyewitnesses is Sonu Kumar, who said, ‘Water tanks and rainwater had filled the nearby drains, due to which the ground became completely slippery.’ Sonu said that “When Guruji left from there after about one and a half hours, the devotees suddenly ran after him to touch his feet. As soon as his car left from there, many devotees were seen bending on the ground and taking the dust of his feet. After this, when people returned, they suddenly fell on each other due to the slippery ground.’
He said that there was a crowd of at least 10,000 people there.On the other hand, an elderly Kailash, who came to the post-mortem house in Etah, told that today a large number of devotees attended the satsang of ‘Saakar Vishwa Hari Bhole Baba’ and while returning after the aarti, there was mud on the way, some people fell there and a stampede occurred.
He said that people fell on each other and in the meantime the crowd coming from behind moved forward crushing the fallen people, in which a large number of people died and a large number of people were also injured.
