Pepperfry co-founder Ambareesh Ambareesh passes away at 51

New Delhi. Ambareesh Murthy, co-founder and CEO of online furniture company Pepperfry, has passed away at the age of 51 due to a heart attack in Leh.On August 7, he also shared a video from Leh on his Insta account.

One of his friends has confirmed this news on Twitter (now X). Murthy co-founded Pepperfry in 2011 with a friend.Ambareesh’s friend Ashish Shah wrote on X, “I am completely broken, my friend, mentor, brother, soulmate Ambareesh Murthy is no more. He passed away last night (7th August) due to cardiac arrest.

Please pray for him…” Ambareesh was very fond of bike riding and used to cover the distance from Mumbai to Leh many times by bike. Hearing the news of his demise, there was a flood of condolence messages from his well-wishers on social media.

Ambareesh obtained his BE degree in Civil Engineering in 1994 from Delhi College of Engineering. He was a 1996 batch alumnus of IIM Calcutta. He had written himself a closed sociopath on his X profile.

He was very interested in reading history. He also used to make small vlogs. You can see many of his videos on his Instagram account.
