10 lakh followers joined PM Modi’s WhatsApp channel in 24 hours

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s WhatsApp channel crossed the 1 million followers mark within 24 hours of its launch on Wednesday evening. He has joined the WhatsApp channel for public outreach through one of the most popular social media platforms.

Screenshots of PM Modi’s WhatsApp channel show that it had 10,00,386 followers as of Wednesday evening and this number will increase further in the coming days.

While posting his picture on X, PM Modi wrote, ‘Thrilled to join the WhatsApp community! This is another step in our journey of continued dialogue.

Let’s stay connected here! Here I am sharing a picture of the new Parliament building.’ WhatsApp Channels is a new feature of Meta, which allows users to follow news organizations, celebrities and others from within WhatsApp.

This one-way broadcast tool was launched last week in India and more than 150 countries by Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp.
