PM Modi reached Doha, held important discussions on bilateral issues with Qatar PM

Doha: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Doha directly from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), held an important meeting with the Prime Minister of Qatar on several bilateral issues on Wednesday evening. PM Modi has arrived on a two-day visit to this Gulf country after inaugurating a grand temple in UAE.

After the release of eight Indian citizens convicted in Qatar recently, this visit of PM Modi to Doha is considered very important.This is Narendra Modi’s second visit to Qatar since he became PM in 2014. Earlier in 2016 he had visited Qatar. After this meeting, PM Modi said in a post on X that the conversation with Prime Minister Al Thani was excellent.

We discussed further strengthening the friendship between India and Qatar. Earlier, the Indian Foreign Ministry said that PM Modi had very fruitful talks with the Prime Minister of Qatar.Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that PM Modi had talks with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Finance Minister Al Thani in Doha on many issues.

This included issues like trade and investment, energy, finance. Before reaching Doha, PM Modi was welcomed by Qatar’s Foreign Minister Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi at the airport.During his two-day visit, PM Modi attended a dinner organized in his honor by the Prime Minister of Qatar. On Thursday, he will meet the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and discuss various regional and global issues with him.
