New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated 91 FM transmitters in 18 states and 2 union territories. To boost FM radio connectivity in border areas and aspirational districts across the country, PM Modi on Friday inaugurated 91 FM transmitters spread across 84 districts.
Taking to Twitter, Prime Minister Modi said that this effort will give momentum to radio and also encourage people associated with it. This expansion of FM radio has happened only two days before the historic 100th episode of Prime Minister Modi’s monthly radio program Mann Ki Baat.
At the inauguration of 91 FM transmitters, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that ‘be it timely dissemination of information, weather forecasting for agriculture or connecting women’s self-help groups to new markets, these FM transmitters will play an important role’ .
The infotainment of FM is very important. Today this expansion of FM service of All India Radio is an important step towards becoming All India FM. This beginning of 91 FM transmission of All India Radio is like a gift for 2 crore people of 85 districts of the country.
Just a few days later, I am going to do the 100th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on radio. This experience of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, this kind of emotional connection with the countrymen was possible only through radio. Through this, I remained connected to the strength of the countrymen and the power of collective duty.
