New Delhi: Today is the 5th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. PM Modi, all his key colleagues in the Union Cabinet reached his samadhi ‘Sadaiv Atal’ to pay homage to former Prime Minister Vajpayee.
PM Modi paid tribute and bowed down to Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Along with BJP leaders and ministers, leaders of NDA allies also participated in the tribute meeting.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee by tweeting on his death anniversary. He tweeted, ‘I join 140 crore people of India in paying homage to the unforgettable Atal ji on his death anniversary.
Significantly, the first Prime Minister of BJP, Atal Bihari Vajpayee is credited with popularizing the party beyond its base and successfully running a coalition government for 6 years.During his tenure, he pushed forward several reforms and boosted infrastructure.
He died on 16 August in the year 2018 at the age of 93.Defense Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted, ‘I remember and salute Atalji on his death anniversary. He led the country on the path of development and good governance. My heartfelt tribute to him.
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari also paid tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary. He tweeted, ‘Former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji is the source of inspiration for crores of workers of the country.
