PM Modi to inaugurate the new terminal building of Port Blair Airport today

New Delhi. PM Modi will inaugurate the new integrated terminal building of Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair today through video conferencing.

The PMO said that enhancing connectivity infrastructure has been a major focus of the government. With the commissioning of the new integrated terminal building built at a cost of about Rs 710 crore, connectivity in this union territory will get a boost.

Functional aprons for two Boeing-767-400 and two Airbus-321 type aircraft have also been constructed at Port Blair airport at a cost of Rs 80 crores, so that the airport can now park 10 aircraft at a time. Can

The new airport building will have a ‘double insulated roofing system’ to reduce heat, reduce the use of artificial lighting inside the building and maximize natural sunlight during the day, the PMO said. Many sustainability features such as skylights, LED lighting, heat-reducing glazing to allow for increased penetration
