PMAY homes will be built on the land vacated from the possession of Atiq Ahmed

Prayagraj. The land vacated from the clutches of Atiq Ahmed in the posh Lukerganj area of Prayagraj will become a home for about 76 families. The Government of Uttar Pradesh is constructing residential flats on this land for the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

For which the allotment process is likely to start from the next financial year. Ajit Kumar Singh, secretary of Prayagraj Development Authority, the construction agency for making the project, said that ‘in total two blocks are being built on 1,731 square meters of land and these There will be three-storey buildings.

PDA Secretary Ajit Kumar Singh said that there will be 36 houses in one block and 40 in the other. They will be allotted soon after the draw. PDA officials said that more than 6,000 online applications have been received for allotment of 76 houses being built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana on the land vacated from the possession of Atiq Ahmed.

The response of the people to this was tremendous. The PDA has received around Rs 3.16 crore from interested persons as ‘Guarantee Money’ submitted along with the applications. Applications have been sent to the State Urban Development Authority (SUDA) for verification. After which houses will be allotted through lottery system.

Officials further said that those who do not get flats through the lottery system, their guarantee amount will be returned. He said that the flats would be allotted through a draw. For this the PMAY beneficiary will have to pay Rs 3.5 lakh,

While the rest of the money spent as the cost of preparing the houses will be shared by the state and central governments. The PDA said that out of the total applications received, around 2,000 applications were found eligible for allotment. The foundation stone of this ambitious project was laid by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in December 2021.
