Pune. The controversy has escalated after several allegations were leveled against trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar, including appearing in the civil services examination through fake identity and disability certificate. The troubles of the Maharashtra cadre IAS officer increased further this week when the Delhi Police registered an FIR against her after a complaint by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Since the controversy started, several discrepancies have come to light in Pooja Khedkar’s medical certificate. She also used two different names – Khedkar Pooja Dilip Rao and Pooja Manorama Dilip Khedkar – while applying for the disability certificate.The commission also issued a show cause notice to her to cancel her candidature for the Civil Services Examination-2022 and bar her from appearing in future examinations.
Official sources said that the commission lodged a complaint against Khedkar with the Crime Branch of Delhi Police on Thursday.Khedkar, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) 2023 batch officer, was recently accused of misusing privileges during her training in Pune and using fake certificates to get selected in the civil services.
Khedkar is accused of trying to intimidate people by installing a red-blue light on a personal Audi car. The luxury car used by Khedkar also had ‘Maharashtra Government’ written on it. After the Pune District Collector raised the issue, Khedkar was transferred to the Washim District Collector’s Office in the Vidarbha region.
