Hearing on Article 370 in Supreme Court

New Delhi. During the 11th day of debate in the Supreme Court against the abolition of Article-370, the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, the Central Government said on Monday that after the Jihadi attack on the CRPF convoy in Pulwama in February 2019, the Center had Made up our mind that the special status of Kashmir will be abolished.

And there a union territory will be made. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre, said that many things happened. Pulwama attack happened in the beginning of 2019 and this step was taken keeping many things in mind. Such as sovereignty, national security issues etc.

The Supreme Court was told by the Central Government that this is a well thought out administrative issue. This decision has been well thought out before and is not a hasty decision.

Several parties, including the PDP and the National Conference of Jammu and Kashmir, had termed this move of the central government as violative of the rights of the people there and against their sovereignty. Along with this, there was a demand to restore Articles 370 and 35A.

Tushar Mehta slammed both the parties and said that now people have realized what they have lost. After the removal of Article 35A, investment has started coming in Jammu and Kashmir and tourism has also started in the area due to the presence of police system near the center.
