Maharashtra: More than 50 families trapped in landslide in Raigarh, 4 people died

Raigarh. Information about the incident of heavy landslide has been received in Irshalwadi village of Khalapur tehsil of Raigarh district of Maharashtra. There is a possibility of 50 family members being trapped in this.

The administration has decided to close the schools and colleges. Meanwhile, the police have told that 25 people have been rescued. At the same time, information about the death of 4 people is coming to the fore.

CM Eknath Shinde has also reached the spot. At the same time, after getting the information of the incident, two teams of NDRF have been sent on the spot. Each team consists of 25 members.

Giving information about the incident, Raigarh police said that till now we have saved 25 people. Still many people are feared to be trapped. At present, more than 100 officers of police and district administration are engaged in the rescue work.

Officials said five to six of these houses were able to escape damage and a school was also undamaged.Amid incessant rains in parts of the state, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a “red alert” for Raigad on Thursday.

The district administration has appealed to NGOs to come forward and assist the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in the rescue operation after the landslide incident.
