Rampur: CM Yogi’s action in Dalit student murder case, FIR against 25 including Deputy District Magistrate

New Delhi. The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has come into action in the matter of dispute between two parties regarding the installation of hoarding with the picture of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar in Milak area of Rampur district. During this incident, a Dalit youth had died due to bullet injury.

The state government has now taken action against four officers including the concerned Deputy District Magistrate and Police Officer in this matter. In this case, a case has been registered against a total of 25 people, including one Home Guard jawan deployed with the Deputy District Magistrate and the Tehsildar.

Police sources told that in Silaibara village of Milak police station area, people of Dalit community had put up hoardings of Ambedkar on a land belonging to the village community and started preparations for installing the statue.He told that people from other communities of the same village had complained to the administration alleging an attempt to illegally occupy the land of the village society.

Sources said that on Tuesday evening the local tehsil personnel along with the police team reached the spot and started the action to remove the illegal encroachment.Meanwhile, a dispute broke out between the Dalit community and the other party, which took a violent turn. During this time, a Dalit boy named Somesh (17) died and two others were injured due to firing.

According to sources, taking action in this matter, Rampur District Magistrate Joginder Singh has removed Milak Tehsil Deputy District Magistrate Aman Deval. Apart from this, Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi has also removed the concerned police area officer Kirti Nidhi Anand, Milak police station in-charge Inspector Anupam Sharma and outpost in-charge Inspector Surendra. The case is being investigated. The family members of the teenager killed in the incident that took place on Tuesday allege that he died due to police firing.
