Brazil News:25 people died and six were injured in a terrible accident in Brazil. The accident occurred in the northeastern state of Bahia when a minibus carrying tourists on a coastal trip collided with a truck. Local officials gave this information on Monday.
The state’s local fire department said in a statement that the accident happened at night on a federal road between the cities of Nova Fatima and Gaviao in inland Bahia. It was told that the injured were taken to nearby hospitals. The accident happened on Sunday night at around 10:30 local time.
The minibus was heading back to the town of Jacobina after a visit to the touristy Guarazuba beach on the northern coast of Bahia when the head-on collision occurred, but this has not yet been confirmed.
The highway police did not immediately respond to a request for information. The municipality of Jacobina announced three days of mourning and said on its official Instagram profile that it was organizing a mass vigil for the victims in the town’s gymnasium.
