Zelensky takes big decision amid Russia-Ukraine war, dismisses Defense Minister Oleksiy

Kyiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky suddenly dismissed his Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov on Sunday night. In his place, 41-year-old Rustam Umerov has been appointed as the new Defense Minister of Ukraine.

With the appointment of a new Defense Minister, Zelensky directed that the war with Russia has now entered its 19th month. In order to win in such a situation, now the Ministry of Defense needs to adopt a new approach.

Meanwhile, this big decision taken by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in the middle of the war has surprised everyone. Not only Ukraine but other countries of the world are also very surprised about this decision of Zelensky.

However, many questions are also being raised regarding this decision. According to the video posted on President Volodymyr Zelensky’s social media account X, Zelensky has nominated former People’s Deputy of Ukraine Rustam Umerov to become the new Defense Minister.

Zelensky wrote in his post, ‘Now Rustam Umerov should lead the ministry. Umerov needs no additional introduction. The Ukrainian Parliament knows this person very well. I hope that the Parliament will support this candidate.
