Russia claims full control over Ukraine’s Bakhmut city, Putin congratulates army

Moscow: The Russian army claimed full control of the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut on Saturday. But Ukraine has rejected Russia’s claim and said that the fighting is still going on.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Wagner’s private army and assault teams of Russian soldiers following the occupation of eastern Ukraine. The Kremlin’s press office said in a statement on Sunday that ‘Vladimir Putin congratulates the Wagner assault teams as well as all Russian servicemen who provided the necessary assistance.’

However, as soon as the Wagner Chief claimed to have captured Bakhmut, Kiev immediately rejected the claim and said that the fighting was still on. It is known that Bakhmut is located in the northwestern part of the Donetsk People’s Republic and serves as an important supply center for the Ukrainian army in Donbass.

On August 1, 2022, there was a fierce battle to liberate the city. The battle for the city has been one of the most intense since the liberation of Donbass in 2014. The Russian Defense Ministry also announced that the city of Artyomovsk was completely liberated during a special military operation in Ukraine. .

It comes as G7 leaders vow to stand together against Russia’s “illegal, unjustified and unprovoked war aggression” against Ukraine, according to a joint statement issued during the G7 leaders’ summit that began on Saturday in Hiroshima, Japan. has confirmed its commitment.
